MHUG Scholarship Supports Future Hydropower Leaders

Are you interested in a career in hydropower? The Midwest Hydro Users Group (MHUG) scholarship can help you achieve your goals.

High school seniors and those enrolled within their first 2 years of a 2-year, or 4-year college, university, or technical school are eligible for our scholarship.

  1. You must be accepted or enrolled at a Midwestern university, college, or technical school (eligible states are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin).

  2. You must also be interested in a program that supports the hydropower industry (examples provided in the application).

How to Apply

All required information including the student application, copy of official transcripts, and appraisal form, must be received by February 28, 2025.

You’ll need to complete the application, submit your official transcript, and have one reference provide a personal recommendation.

The Appraisal Form is required from a recent advisor, coach, teacher/professor, or work/volunteer supervisor (this should not be a family member). Applicants are responsible to send the link above to their appraiser (reference).

For your copy of official transcripts: Students currently or previously enrolled in college must include all college transcripts of grades from each school attended. Official transcripts must display student name, school name, grade, credit hours earned for each course (as appropriate), and the term each course was taken.

Selection and Award

Scholarship applicants will be notified by April 30, 2025.

If selected, funds will be released directly to the financial office of the recipient’s school in August 2025.

Acceptance of funds constitutes permission for MHUG to use recipient’s name and scholarship story for the purpose of scholarship promotion
