Growing up in Bangladesh, Samiha Tahseen knew what it meant to go without power, sometimes for hours at a time. Now, as the Director of Generation Planning at Brookfield Renewables, Samiha optimizes hydro, wind, solar, and storage assets across one of North America’s largest renewable portfolios.

MIRANDA
Meet Miranda
Miranda Bernard is a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydropower and Hydrokinetic Office (H2O). In this role, she supports marine energy projects and workforce development initiatives.
Miranda has a Bachelor’s in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Princeton University and a PhD in Environmental Life Sciences from Arizona State University. Prior to working at H2O, she was a AAAS Congressional Science Policy Fellow supporting a Congresswoman’s energy, environment, health, and science education portfolios. Miranda is based in Silver Spring, Maryland.
TAYLOR
Meet Taylor
Taylor Stothoff is a Hydropower Insurance Advisor at Maury, Donnelly & Parr, Inc. (MDP), an independent insurance agency specializing in complex and unique risks, including hydropower and renewable energy. Taylor works with asset owners, developers, and other industry professionals across the U.S. to develop tailored insurance and risk management solutions that protect their assets and operations.
With more than six years of experience in the insurance industry, Taylor brings a client-focused approach and specialized knowledge to helping businesses navigate complex insurance needs. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from The Pennsylvania State University.
